Our Wedding Story
It has already been four months since our wedding and we finally sent the Wedding DVD out to all of you. My priorities in the daily life also shifted dramatically before and after the wedding.
Thank you Harrison for giving me such a wonderful wedding day, and the most important thing, THANKS ALL OF YOU for being part of our lives and part of this joyful moment. Good friends and close families, great venue, nice music and fantastic food… What more could I ask for.
Last year at the end of March, Harrison proposed! Amazingly, our close friends, Howard and Jie, also proposed within the same week without knowing each others plans. A little scary, isn’t it?! The toughest decision after that was to decide the wedding location and time. Due to my younger sister’s wedding plans and the superstitious side of me, we moved the date many times before finally coming to a conclusion - we’d have the Chinese engagement party in Taiwan on June 19, 2005 and the western wedding here in the bay area on the Sunday of the Thanksgiving weekend, which was also the weekend that we first met 4 years ago. After that, everything just flew by…
Mom was in charge of the whole preparation of our engagement party in Taiwan which was a huge task. Without us being around, she did everything for this huge 400-guest banquet in my home town, I-Lan, Taiwan. I want to thank my dearest Mom for making such a wonderful party come true. In the short trip to Taiwan last June, Harrison and I also took the opportunity to have our engagement/wedding photos done by a Taipei photo studio. It is the Asian tradition!
Looking back, I do not know how I pulled everything off with only 5 months of preparations. I visited no less than 20 wedding venues from Carmel to Napa; talked to more than 10 photographers, 10 videographers, and numerous different vendors. With Harrison’s and many friends’ help, we hand-made the save-the-day cards and wedding invitations. Harrison spent a week on the english and chinese versions of the wedding slideshow. We also went to a lot of food tasting which Harrison thought it’s the best part of the process (of course, he’s only responsible for the “tasting” part!) I think I could be a pretty good wedding planner by now, if you ever need any help or advice.
We hope that you also enjoyed the day as much as we did. We were fortunate to have friends and families witness our exchange of vows, and share our happiness. For those who were far away and not able to make it to our wedding, we want you to know that you were always in our mind sharing our important moment and we love you all. Hopefully through this website and all the photos posted, you can also feel being part of it!

And THANKS to all the Guests that were able to come celebrate this special day with us.
