dsc02662.jpgTaiwan, here we are!

As I was hoping, Anders was doing very well on the flight. With a bottle of milk during take-off, he slept the next four hours as he was supposed to and it gave me a chance to eat and rest from the worries before we boarded.

During the 14-hour flight, he was awake for 4 hours max in total and he was very cooperative to sleep while the meal was serving. :) Though I have to take him for a few walks throughout the journey and let him watch movies with me together occasionally, he didn’t get any complaints from the neighbor seats. It was a full flight and there were three babies at the front seats in the EVA Deluxe cabin including a 18-month-old next to Anders and I. You can imagine how crowed it was. The flight attendants were really nice and helpful and that made the journey much enjoyable.

What Anders was doing for most of the time…..

Thanks for grandpa and grandma Hung to pick us up at the airport. Anders seemed very happy to meet grandpa and grandma Hung at the airport and cooing and laughing in the taxi all the time. He was also excited to be back to grandpa and grandma Pu’s home as he continued his laughters while being held from one to another. He was absolutely the center of the attention.

Though the journey to Taiwan was such a pleasant experience, the following 48 hours were tough.

After grandma and grandpa Hung left, he took a couple short naps. However, he was always crying or fussy throughout the day and required being held all the time. One problem was also that we don’t have proper equipments here. Little Anders didn’t have his swing and exersaucer; and he can’t sit, crawl or walk by himself yet. With his current weight of 15 lbs, grandma Pu and mommy both had very sore arms in a few hours. The first night, he only slept 2 hours during feedings and he was awake and playing for 2.5 hours from 2:00AM to 4:30AM. The first 24 hours in Taiwan was tough.

I was worried when I woke up the second morning that the same 24 hours would repeat again. Surprisingly, it went well. Little piggy was in a good mood and he slept for 5 hours over lunch hours. I suddenly realized that he was also experiencing the jet-lag. With such a long nap, he was in a good mood again. We took him out to shop for a walker in the early evening and gave him a warm bath before his bedtime at 9:00 PM. Now it’s 4:00 in the morning and I’m writing this post peacefully with his sound sleep aside. :)

Hopefully he’ll be back to his happy self again soon.

Hay, Yi-Chun,
What a surprise finding you are in Taiwan now! I cannot reach you via home phone (039-3272XX). So please call me if you can(0920007298). I would be very happy to pay a visit to you at your home. BTW, I decide not to go to Chih-Chiang parents’ home for Chinese New Year this year. So I am available during holidays! Please call!
Can’t wait to meet your Anders.
