I actually won something!!

While sorting through my inbox this morning, I came across a curious email. It said:

You are receiving this email because you are the winner of the InkjetCartridge.com Boat-A-Day Giveaway. THIS IS NOT A SPAM EMAIL MESSAGE, you have been drawn as a Winner of the Boat Giveaway.

Congratulations!!! You’ve won one of our free Remote Controlled Speed Boats. I’m sure you want your prize as soon as possible; so let me tell you what I need in order for you to redeem your prize.

Although I was skeptical that this was just another spam message, I dRC Boatid actually order inkjet cartridges over the weekend. The email address matched the inkjetcartridge.com domain name as well.

So I responded to the email, and it was actually genuine promotion. I do not recall ever winning something from a promotion before, so this maybe a special moment in my life ;) .

I got the boat by mail, it doesn’t look as impressive as the photo above, but like most things in life, nothing looks better than the marketing photo.

Now the problem is finding a lake in the Silicon Valley to try this boat on.

Glad to hear you mentioned the boat! Your blog note helps our company and we appreciate it. I know you didn’t probably intend it for that reason but we appreciate it anyway! Saw your blog. Guess this means that you have to watch what you say or people will find you huh! We sincerely hope you like the boat!
